H.O.P.E. Horse Rescue Scout Badge Program

Girls and Boys can earn their horse badges.

The scout badge program is designed to help the scout achieve their appropriate equine badge. H.O.P.E. requires an advance notice of six weeks to schedule this activity. Click here for pictures of past clinics........

Girl Scout "Horse Lover" badge: $20 donation per child (Approx. 2 hours)

  • Certificate to child stating the following activities for the Horse Lover badge have been met: 2,3,5,9,10 & 11
  • Information materials about H.O.P.E. are distributed to the scouts including our newsletter and program information.

Girl Scout "Horseback Rider" badge: $20 donation per child (Approx. 2 hours)

  • Certificate to child stating the following activities for the Horseback Rider badge have been met: 1,3,6,8,
  • Information materials about H.O.P.E. are distributed to the scouts including our newsletter and program information

Girl Scout "Horse Sense" badge: $20 donation per child (Approx. 3 hours)

  • Certificate to child stating the following activities for the Horse Sense badge have been met: Skill Builders 1, 2 & 6; Technology 2 & 3; Service Projects 1 (if the child comes back to volunteer for a day)
  • Information materials about H.O.P.E. are distributed to the scouts including our newsletter and program information.

Boy Scout "Horsemanship" merit badge testing: $20 donation per child (Approx. 2 hours)
The Horsemanship badge assumes that you have already learned to ride a horse at the canter and have worked through your booklet. If you do not know how to canter on horseback, please do not schedule your test. You may bring your own horse or use one of our lesson horses for your test. Depending on the distance we may be able to go to you.

  • Once the tests have been passed, the child will receive a Certificate stating the badge requirements have been met.
  • Information materials about H.O.P.E. are distributed to the scouts including our newsletter and program information
