Horses > Who Have Passed On, Over The Rainbow Bridge

These horses have passed on, but are not forgotten. Each one of these horses have touched our life in one way or another.

Somwhere in time's Own Space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some Paradise where horses go,
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.

Our beloved Tease crossed over the rainbow bridge on July 3, 2007. Tease came to H.O.P.E. two years ago and was used in our educational programs. She taught many people to ride and about horses. She was always patient, gentle and willing. She was the boss mare and kept all of the horses inline. We will all miss her so much!

Poppa crossed the rainbow bridge on Thurs, Dec 14. Poppa had been with H.O.P.E. for 2 years and although he never found a permanent home, he was leased by a couple people who cared for him. Unfortunately, he developed severe arthritis in his knees and was in pain. There wasn't anything that was able to alleviate his pain and he was miserable. Poor Poppa couldn't even lay down anymore as his knees did not have full range of motion.

Poppa left us very peacefully with Liz, Pat and Yvonne at his side. I am sure it was finally a relief to him to lay down and rest. We will all miss him greatly.

Bree was with us for about 9 mos. She came to us severly underweight & was returning nice & slow to a healthy weight. She never seemed to be a happy horse but was always gentle and friendly. Bree lost her battle to colic which we believe was a twisted intestine, which was causing her a tremendous amount of pain. Her pain and suffering was eased with Lauren, Sue, Jeanne and Kathy by her side as she crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Mickey was so gentle and loving. You couldn't have asked for a better teacher and horse friend. Mickey slipped away quietly, with his foster family at his side in Nov 2005.

Misty always seemed so sad. She was very emanciated at the time of her rescue and I think she just lost the will to go on. She quietly left us the day after Christmas 2003.
