Adoption Process

1. View the Horses Available
2. Submit your application for approval
3. Schedule a working session with the horse, under our supervision, to determine if you are suited for each other. [If the original horse does not work out, the adopter may evaluate any other horse in the program to find a match.]
4. Schedule to have the facility reviewed where the horse is to be kept. (See list of already approved facilities).
5. Sign the adoption contract and pay the set adoption fee.
6. Arrange for transport (with us or carrier).

SCARLETT #1025-06 : 1988 Standardbred Mare 15.2 hands (named by Robin Heike) I was saved from the slaughterhouse by HOPE. I was used as a brood mare, but those days are over (thank goodness). I would make a good companion for your horse or as a therapy horse for you. I love to be groomed and loved on. I am very good natured. I am located at one of HOPE's foster facilities in Lodi where I am out on pasture most of the time. I would like to find a forever home, my adoption fee is $200.	DUCKS HOT ROD (HOT ROD) #1048-07 : 1983 Quarter Horse Mare My previous owner could no longer care for me due to a terminal illness. I am a boss mare to the horses and I love to be groomed. I cross tie well. You may lease me at HOPE if you want to learn about handling and caring for a horse. Due to my sway back I can only carry a light rider on a lead line. I will also make a good therapy horse for you; or a friend for your gelding. I would love to find a home, my adoption fee is $200.
STEEBARS FOLLY (FOLLY) #1047-07 : 1983 Quarter Horse Mare My previous owner could no longer care for me due to a terminal illness. I am a very loveable mare - and I love to be groomed too. I cross tie well and I used to be a show horse. You may lease me at HOPE if you want to learn about handling and caring for a horse. Due to my fallen pasterns, I can only carry a light rider on a lead-line. I will also make a good therapy horse for you; or a friend for your horse. I would love to find a home, my adoption fee is $200.

ROCKET #1029-06 : 1982 Arabian/Hackney Gelding I used to be a show horse and still remember my stuff :-) I was put back under saddle after coming to H.O.P.E. I really love it and can walk, trot and canter - the kids say I am a fun ride. I also know how to pull a cart. My bad habit is sometimes I can be pushy. I do have cushings, although now you would never know it. But I do need daily medication. I am available to lease at HOPE. I would like to find a forever home and my adoption fee is currently $500.	MADDIE #1024-062003 Standardbred Mare 15.2 hands. (named by Allison Milano) I was saved from slaughter by HOPE. I can walk, trot and do a little cantering. I can ride english and western but do not neck rein. My bad habits are with riding, sometimes I just do not like it. I am available to lease for 4H or at the HOPE facility. I would like to find my forever home and my adoption fee is currently $700.
OHIO "SKY" #1031-07 : 1997 Standardbred Mare 15.2 hands. I used to race at Northfield Park. I can walk and trot. I can ride english and western but do not neck rein. I can pull a cart. I am a beautiful mover and would make a very nice dressage prospect. I have been exposed to the open fields and woods and nothing bothers me. I would make a really nice horse for you being a pleasure to train and work with. I am available to lease at HOPE or for 4H. I would like to find my forever home and my adoption fee is currently $950.	PHANTOM #1027-06 : 1990 Arabian Pinto Gelding 14h I used to reside at a camp where I received 3rd degree burns on my face. The hair will never grow back but I am still good looking. My eyes look like I wear eyeliner and are bright blue. I will always need to wear a mask and suntan lotion. I like kids and adults and can walk, trot and canter. I ride english or western. I am available for a 4H or pony club lease. PICASSO #1022-06 : 2000 Paint Pony Gelding 13.3 (named by Sue Sasak) I was saved from slaughter by HOPE. I have been re-schooled under saddle and can walk, trot and canter. I can ride english and western but do not neck rein. I do have trust issues with those I do not know and I will take me some time to warm up to you. I am not a small childs pony at this time. I am available to lease at HOPE or for 4H or Pony Club. I would like to find my forever home and my adoption fee is currently $800.	RC (Kentucky Squall) #1034-07 : 1998 TB Gelding 15.1 hands. I used to race at Thistledown. I am being re-schooled under saddle and can walk and trot and am very easy going. I can ride english and western but do not neck rein. I can bend nicely and I look fabulous with a lot of chrome. My issues are all ground issues and will walk all over my handler if they do show they are the leader. I also have an old racing injury and will be starting joint supplements. I am available to lease at HOPE or for 4H. I would like to find my forever home and my adoption fee is currently $600.
ALEDO LUCK (ALEDO) #1045-07 : 1985 Quarter Horse Gelding My previous owner could no longer care for me due to a terminal illness. I used to be a Western show horse. I am a good boy under saddle, just a little rusty but it is coming back to me quickly. You may lease me at HOPE. I would also like to find my forever home and my adoption fee is currently $800.	SHELBY #1023-06 : 2003 Standardbred / Morgan Mare 14.3 hands.(named by Allen Preiss) I was saved from slaughter by HOPE. I love to be outdoors riding. I can walk and trot. I can ride english and western but do not neck rein; I can also pleasure drive. I have been exposed to traffic and riding through the woods. My issue is that I just do not like to work in the ring, but we are working through that. I am available to lease for 4H or to lease at the HOPE facility. I would be a wonderful trail horse for you. I would like to find my forever home and my adoption fee is currently $800.
YOUNGBLOOD #1040-07 : 1997 Quarter Horse Gelding My previous owner could no longer keep me and wanted me to find a good home, so I was given to HOPE. I used to be trail horse ridden western; just a fun backyard horse. I do not like cross-ties. I am currently being reschooled and out on a hyatis with my buddy Pam, who might just adopt me if I can behave myself.	FLICKA DANCER # : Quarter Horse Buckskin Mare I was a HOPE horse and adopted to a loving family with girls in 4H. However, one of the girls went on to other interests and my 4H girl graduated from high school this year and is going on to college. The girls gave me two wonderful years of care. Now I am back with HOPE and am up for adoption once more. I would really like to find a permanent home where I will be loved and remain the rest of my life. I ride english or western, have good ground manners and as long as you are a quiet rider I am beautiful under saddle. I am a boss mare and do not play well with other mares. It takes me time to get to know other horses. I am available for lease at HOPE. I would like to find a forever home and my adoption fee is currently $950.
STEEBARS CROSS (STEEBAR) #1046-07 : 1989 Quarter Horse Mare My previous owner could no longer care for me due to a terminal illness. I am a very loveable mare - boy do I love to be groomed. I do have cloudiness in one of my eyes and the vet said that I don't see very well out of it. My bad habit is pawing with my front legs when I am upset or impatient. HOPE is helping me work on that.

RED SILK #1026-06 : 2006 Standardbred/Hackney Filly (named by Pat Agnello) I was saved from slaughter by HOPE along with my mom, Scarlett. I have learned manners and appropriate work for my age. I am getting really tall and beautiful, they say that I float when I trot and I like to jump over anything that is in my way. I would make a great 4H project for you. I am available for a training lease at HOPE or for 4H. I would like to find a family of my own and my adoption fee is currently $600.	ROMEO #1038-07 : Pinto Pony Gelding (named by Jillian Ferguson) 10h I was a pony in need of help. My prayers were answered when some kind people brought me to HOPE. I feel like a King with all of the attention I receive. I have someone to do my feet, brush my hair, bathe my body, bring me my food, clean my stall and take me out to play. OH BOY, I found out what Gelding is!!! Let's just say, I am not calling out like used to! I was moved to a foster home where I get lots of attention from the Kraker kids and am ground working with them. I am available for a 4H lease and could be your best buddy. But I sure would like to find my forever home and my adoption fee is currently $400. I am currently located in one of HOPE's foster facilities in Brunswick.
SPRITE #1039-07 : 2007Standardbred/Hackney Colt (named by Erica Rawbon) I was born at HOPE on Fathers Day. I just LOVE people and am learning my manners. According to everyone here, I am going to be a big boy. I can quite a character and a handful. I have been gelded and am ready for a new home. I am available for a training lease at HOPE or for 4H. I would like to find a family of my own and my adoption fee is currently $600.	KANOOK #1037-07 : 2007 Appaloosa Colt (named by Kelsey Milhorn) My mom is one of the PMU mares and I was only 10 days old when I came to HOPE with my mom. No, that is not mud or dirt on my legs, that is my coloring coming through. I used to be afraid of people, but now I really like them. I am very laid back! I really like it when they brush me. I am learning my manners. I have been gelded and am ready for a new home. I am available for a training lease at HOPE or for 4H. I would like to find a family of my own and my adoption fee is currently $600.
SYBIL (AKA Momma) #1036-07 : 2001 Appaloosa Mare 15 h. (named by Evan Rawbon) I was a PMU mare, like Tillie. But unlike Tillie I was not a coward, I learned to fight instead of run away. I have learned to trust a few of the people at HOPE and have come such a long way. I am ground worked, like to be groomed, can stand for trimming feet and I can be touched and rubbed everywhere. I am getting better each day and am learning to patience. I am still not completely trust worthy with everyone and am not allowed to be adopted or leased.
