Horse Outreach Program through Education
"Saving Equines and Educating the Public"

H.O.P.E. Organization, Inc. > Our Committment

  • Every equine will receive proper vet, farrier, nutrition and mental care.
  • Every equine will receive appropriate training or re-schooling after proper evaluation.
  • Equines with no identification (registration, tattoo, brand) will receive one. This will help to properly identify the equine, should it be stolen-sold at auction-abandoned, etc.
  • Equines will be rescued (purchased) from auctions where meat buyers are present.
  • Equines may be surrendered to H.O.P.E. voluntarily.
  • Equines may be rescued from abuse or neglect situations.
  • All adopters and foster care providers will be screened and tested with the equine before adoption or foster is granted, out-of-state adopters must personally visit the equine.
  • H.O.P.E. staff will visit equines twice a year for the first two years to ensure proper care. If out-of-state adopter, they must report back to H.O.P.E. with current photo’s as to the status of the equine at least 4 times per year; however, our goal is to have out-of-state volunteers who’s primary role will be to visit adopted equines and report back to H.O.P.E.
  • Any adopted or leased (fostered) equine will be removed and returned to H.O.P.E. if not being cared for properly.
  • All volunteers will be screened, trained and mentored. Volunteers will be assigned appropriate roles after proving experience or talent.
  • First time equine owners cannot adopt equines, to be housed on their property, unless they can prove they have the knowledge to care for the equine they want to adopt. Should the adopter not prove to have the appropriate knowledge, we will encourage them to foster the equine at our facility for a period of six months, while attending appropriate clinics at H.O.P.E. After which, they will be reconsidered for adoption or off-site foster care for another six months.
  • Foal adoptions will be treated the same as first time equine owners.
  • All equines adopted from H.O.P.E. Organization will be current with their vaccinations and worming and have a positive identification. When adopted, copies of all medical records or history that we have for each equine will be given to the adopter.
  • After adopter has cared for the equine successfully for two years, an adoption certificate will be awarded, along with any registration papers.
