Sharon Hiller
Tease
"Leasing Tease was a rewarding experience. I have recommended your leasing program to several people as it is the closest to owning their own horse."
Hannah Sommers
Sky
"My leasing experience at HOPE made me feel good about being able to care for a special horse that needed LOVE and CARE, it was a great experience!"

Liz Kraker
Chico

"Leasing gave us the experience and knowledge to build confidence in our ability to care for horses. It helped us to know our dream of becoming horse owners could be a reality through hands on experience, learning the ups and downs of loving horses, and by bonding with the horse in a special way."

Kelly Prebish
Rocket

"Leasing Rocket has been a truly amazing experience for me. Just thinking of him always puts a huge smile on my face! Getting to know him has been truly rewarding and fills a place in my heart that has always ached for a pony just like him. He is a kind, gentle soul, yet he can still challenge me which just proves that age means little to Rocket! We have bonded very well and I cherish every moment I get to spend with him. Thanks to all of my fellow H.O.P.E. volunteers, and especially Lauren for presenting me with the opportunity to live one of my childhood dreams!"

  • The leasing fee covers board, feed/hay, bedding, vet and farrier expenses, use of riding arena and use of tack (if the horse is rideable).
  • Half leases are $100 monthly and full leases are $200 monthly. Lease fees are non-refundable. No lease fee for off site 4H horse leases; however the leasor is responsible for all other expenses for the horse off-site; including vet and farrier.
  • Anyone leasing a horse will be notified should someone be interested in adopting during your lease term. Horses on a 4-H lease are not available for adoption during your 4H lease term. If the leasee is interested in adopting the horse, they must submit an adoption application in order to have first right of refusal. With the exception of a 4H lease, it is possible a horse may be adopted out while you are in the middle of a leasing term. The ultimate goal at H.O.P.E. is to adopt out all horses to forever home!
  • Only a 4-H or Training Lease may be off site.

On-Site Lease

  • Horses may be leased at our H.O.P.E. barn by families or adults that are willing to help with their care and training.
  • We offer 1/2 and full leases on 30 day terms.
  • We offer a support system for those leasing and are available to them 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Lessons are available for those who are wanting to learn riding or training using a leased horse.

4-H Lease

  • Our 4-H leasing program allows children who need a horse, to use one of our rescues as their project horse.
  • Horses may be leased at our facility or housed at your own facility.
  • When the 4-H child has satisfied their project requirements, the child has the option of continuing to use the horse for another project, adopting the horse at a lower adoption fee or discontinue their lease.
  • Should the child choose to discontinue the lease and the horse is adopted by someone, the child will receive a percentage of the adoption fee as a Thank You for their hard work and dedication. To benefit the child, these horses may be priced higher as they have had exposure to the shows and consistent work.
